Welcome to the Willette Lab of Applied Ecology at Loyola Marymount University.
Fantastic discoveries about the natural world are uncovered almost daily, yet as scientists (and humans), we still have much to learn. This is particularly true as our planet is rapidly changing in response to how we interact with it.
Our lab strives to advance science education and pursues solutions to current environmental problems. Our research focuses on conservation in both marine and terrestrial environment, including restoring native biodiversity, managing invasive species, and combatting Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing and seafood fraud. To explore these, our work cuts across disciplines and utilizes principles and approaches from the fields of ecology, molecular genetics, ecological modeling, and environmental policy.
Please explore this website to learn more about our team, our research, and our global outreach.
